By invitation
Become a Localbird Host
Every Host is vetted. We invite Hosts who fit. Joining is by personal invitation, and there is no public application.
A request to be considered, not an application.

How it works
Step 1: Request an invitation
Tell us who you are and what you would show people. This is a request to be considered, not an application.
Step 2: A conversation
We talk with you about your Zurich and your idea for an experience.
Step 3: Review
We look at whether it fits what Localbird is for.
Step 4: Invitation to apply
If it fits, you receive a personal invitation and a code to open the Host application.
Who we look for
People who live in Zurich and have something they love to show: photographers, musicians, cooks, students, artists, hikers and designers.
You live in Zurich
You know a part of the city well, through what you do or where you spend your time.
Interesting, not professional
You do something you care about. You do not need to be an expert or to have done this before.
Not a professional guide
Localbird is not for scripted routes or fixed itineraries. A Host shares their own Zurich with a few guests, as a person.
What hosting means
This describes the intention. Nothing is booked or charged on this site.
Your own experience
You design the experience together with us, then host it.
Small groups
An experience is for one to four guests.
Guests and bookings
We bring you guests and handle the bookings, so you can focus on hosting.
How we vet
Every Host is vetted before they can appear. Here is what vetting means:
- A conversation about your Zurich and what you would show people.
- A review of whether it fits what Localbird is for.
- A personal invitation and a code, so that only invited people can apply.
Someone who has not been through these steps does not appear on Localbird.
Ask to be considered
Requesting an invitation does not create an account and does not commit you to anything.
