Frequently asked questions
What is a Localbird Host?
A Host is a local who shares the part of their city they know best: a photographer, a musician, a cook, a student, an artist. Think of a Host as a local guide: not a professional with a script, but a person with a point of view.
How do I become a Host?
Hosts join by invitation. Every Host is vetted before they can appear. If you think you would be a good fit, you can request an invitation.
Is Localbird a tour company?
No. There is no script and no checklist of sights. You spend time with one person, in their version of the city.
Is it safe?
Experiences start at public meeting points, and groups are small. Your Host confirms every request before anything is booked, and you can get in touch with us if something is not right.
How does booking work?
You send a request. Your Host confirms before anything is booked. There is no payment on this site, and nothing is charged.
What does it cost?
It is decided per experience and shared on request. Nothing is charged on this site.
Which languages?
The site is in English for now. Hosts list the languages they speak on their profile, and you can filter Hosts by language.
Are the experiences on this site real?
Not yet. They are clearly labelled examples. Real Hosts replace them only with their agreement.
